Alejandro Cremaschi received a Licenciatura degree in his native Argentina, and Master and Doctorate degrees from the University of Minnesota.

He studied with Dora De Marinis, Nancy Roldan and Lydia Artymiw. An active performer of works by Latin American composers, his playing has been praised as an intelligent and sensitive. He was a prize-winner at the International Beethoven Sonata Piano Competition in Memphis, Tennessee in 2001. Cremaschi has recorded music by Guastavino and Gianneo for the labels IRCO, Marco Polo and Ostinato. His latest CD with music by CU Prof. Emeritus Luis Jorge Gonzalez, which includes a trio with Beth Kipper and Thomas Heinrich, was released by Meridian Records in 2009, and has received high praise from the specialized press. Dr. Cremaschi teaches piano, and is the head of the piano pedagogy area at CU. He was a recipient of a Provost Faculty Achievement Award at the University of Colorado in 2009.
