David Perry Lawrence’s hummingbird photograph, seen below, made the National Geographic Daily Dozen list on Wednesday, May 10, 2011. David’s comment: In Mexico’s bright tropical noonday sun, this lily’s petals are clearly visible through the diaphanous wings of the tiny hummingbird as it drinks the flower's nectar, gives context to the photo.
