In Ajijic, the Fiestas Patrias or Independence Day Celebrations include fun-packed days of several events held over two weekends, including the traditional parade and Grito enacted all over Mexico.

Regatta de Globo Today at the Futbal Field on Revolucion Ajijic 3pm - 10pm
Usually begins around 3pm with a small entry fee. Children under 12 are usually free.

Balet Folklorico 7:30
Usually Music 8:30 and Dance Ending 3am
10:30pm Grito de Independence Ceremony the major event of this day, the Grito or Cry to the War of Independence, which is re-enacted in plazas and zocalos all over Mexico. The Grito is the quintessential event of the Fiestas Patrias.

6am the Raising of the Flag at the Delegacion Ajijic
10AM is the Independence Day Parade
Parade begins at Calle Revolucion and Constitucion continuing to Seis Esquinas, returning on Calle Hidalgo to the Plaza. Teams, Floats, Charros, Soccer Teams and Banda.
2pm Futbol Catedraticos vs Seleccion Ajijic at the Futbol field west Ajijic (not confirmed)
6pm is the Combate de Flores at the Ajijic Plaza, Boy and Girls could get flowers tossed at them or the confetti eggs. The youth get flowers tossed at them or the confetti eggs by potential "More than Friends"
More Events to be added When Official Schedule is Announced
September 28th celebrates the Patron Saint San Miguel, mountainside Ajijic, between Colon and Obregon streets. Celebrations, music, cohetes, food and processions.
